Do Christians Want to Punish Non-believers?
I asked Brave (right wing google) a question the other day. "Do all Christians believe the end is near?" And I get this one article that just plain makes me sad. The name of the article, that was written in 2013, is '4 Reasons Right Wing Christians Salivate for the End Times.' https://www.alternet.org/2013/10/4-reasons-right-wing-christians-salivate-e
I'm going to go through this article and show you some of the authors ignorance in analyzing Christians desire for the end, the rapture. The first thing I want to talk about is the authors obvious bias against the right and Christians as well. You can tell she harbors some disdain, if not hatred, of us by the way this person interprets Christians and their beliefs. The author says that the conflict in Syria had all fundamentalist Christians looking for prophecies to come to pass. She also says that it's weird that we WANT the end to happen. Well YES we want it to happen! You see it's a promise that God made to us that he would send Jesus back to save us from the corruption of the world. We want to be raptured out of turmoil, however, we know that in the last days we will have to endure persecution before we can go home. Another point the author attempts to make is that Christians believe that Obama is the antichrist and that's why we believe the end is near. Now, personally, I see the wars and rumors of war and the weather and the earthquakes becoming more frequent. I've had strange prophetic dreams and i feel an urging within my spirit to pull away from things of this world and live more Intentionally. These are the signs I’m seeing. The author asks, "why would anyone want this? Mass murder, hellfire, etc.” Well, those bad things happening are supposed to be a sign to both believers and nonbelievers that you should get right with your creator. The authors first reason for Christians wanting the end is They Dont Think They Will be Here For Most Of It. Now, I've done some studying and as far as I can tell we don't get raptured pretrib and we may not get to meet the Lord in the clouds until posttrib. So, NO, friend I believe We probably will be here for most of it. She cited Left Behind as the reason for popularizing the pretrib teaching. Sorry, sis, back then I was hearing that in church and I'm assuming anyone who was into Christian pop culture in the late 90s was too. That's why the books were so popular. But they are fantasy and most of us have grown up since then. Oh and she said we didn't want to face death. Heck, the reason I believe in Jesus is the hope I have for AFTER I die. I know I'll be with him forever and I'm ok with that even if I have to go through the whole tribulation. Her next point is 'The end of the world would mean they get to have the last word.' The author believes that Christians want to be able to rub others noses in the fact that we are right. I DONT want to rub your nose in it...I want you to be with Jesus when you die too! The author offers a quote from Doug Weaver, a professor of religion at Baylor, explained to the Washington Post, “I think history will tell you that end time predictions increase when people are being persecuted or feel persecuted." YES, That's correct. Christians are being persecuted even if you don't believe that. Just take a look at covid Protocols. One of The first places they tried to keep us from going was church. Covid gave governments the excuse they wanted to take away rights. Rights...NOT privileges as she said in the article. She states,"While conservative Christians are most definitely not being persecuted, watching their privileges decline often makes them feel persecuted. When you feel put upon, mocked and persecuted, the desire to show your opponents you were right all along can become overwhelming. So much so, that you’re willing to wish for a fiery apocalypse just so you can say I told you so." Our entire belief system is based on 'Do Unto others' and this person believes we want the apocalypse just to own some libs?! Again, I just want to be left alone and then I want to go to heaven. Those are two tiny requests but lefties want us to abide by their standards and not our own. You persecute people by canceling, censoring and silencing them. This is happening to regular old every day preachers who try to share the gospel on the net. At any time a tech company can shut you down just because they want to. And then when we ' make our own Twitter' the left reeeee's until the apple or Google stores boot us. So you want ALL opposition silenced and you don't want to debate.
Her next point is that 'It provides a distraction so conservatives don't have to deal with the current issues.' Well, at the time this article was written the choices that Obama was making were being questioned. Especially the Syrian issue. This author obviously believes the gas attack was real and she doesn't believe it was a regime change coup. I wonder how this person's perspective has changed since 2013 or if they still stick their head in the sand and only pull it out to spout lies about the right. I'll say it again, we just want to be left alone and we want to go to heaven when we die. Why do leftists keep poking the bear over and over and over again? Do they believe parents won't eventually retaliate if you abuse their kids in school? Do they it understand that eventually they have to pay for their corruption of traditional values? Do they not understand that abortion and the LGBTQ militant agenda are a couple of reasons weare being judged by the creator right now? We are so evil here in the US that we elected (ahem...installed) a kid diddling potato who screwed up his kids and is trying to screw up the rest of our kids too. We are getting what we deserve.
In her last point the author says that Christians want to see their opposition punished in the apocalypse. That is a lie. Yes we want to see sin destroyed and Jesus to take us home. And I ask what is wrong with this? Yes, we should rejoice when we see these signs because it's proof that we are leaving soon. We've been warning nonbelievers that judgement is coming. NOT an earthly judgment but a judging of the soul by its creator. We want YOU, Yes, you the leftist, to be there with us! We want millions to be saved in this end time because we know the horrors that are coming. We want the Lord to hide you and shield you from this pain. Why would we want you punished? Is that because you think that people on the right are as vengeful as the left? I'm sorry to burst your bubble author but we don't want you to go to hell. So, please know that time is short and you should probably figure out who you are going to worship after you die.
